my software setup
secure-booted (thx lzbt) nixos unstable running gnome with a crap ton of dumb extensions and yaru dark magenta theme. using oh-my-zsh and oh-my-posh. used kitty for a while but switched to ghostty. used firefox for years but switched to floorp and use ungoogled chromium for school.
im a neovim user and i spent too much time on my config to simply give up and use some disgusting electron-based software like the vscode flavors or some proprietary crap (which is also ugly) like sublime. no one has invented a gui text editor i like. my favorite is kate but i stopped using it back in my windows days which are thankfully behind me -- it was a little laggy though it was really good. but i hate qt. lapce comes a little after that. also: why don't i use helix? the answer is that helix is a disturbing text editor with actually pretty good ideas about selection and cursors but not nearly as much fancy nonsense as i like. also: why don't i use emacs? the answer is are you kidding me? have you tried using that accursed program on anything less than a threadripper? especially with that "evil/doom" nonsense that requires one to eventually learn lisp anyway to get what one wants excatly, and lisp is a terribly ugly language, why the hell?
